Charlotte, NC veterinary services
– delivered with courtesy, respect, and a Fear-Free Approach!

As a new client of Queen City Animal Hospital in Charlotte, NC, you can expect our full attention to yours and your pets’ needs.

When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly in our reception area. We have separate dog and cat waiting areas to ensure our patients are as comfortable as possible from the start. In each area, dog and cat pheromones (respectively) are being diffused, and you’ll hear calming music scientifically proven to calm our patients and enhance the human-animal bond.

Then, one of our veterinary technicians will greet you and your pet and usher you into an examination room best suited for the species of your pet. There will be gentle music playing, more appeasing pheromones, and the veterinary technician will start by asking about your pet’s medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit. During this time, your pet will have the opportunity to explore the environment, get comfortable, and be fed delicious treats by our team.

Your pet may then be taken to our treatment area where our team will obtain vitals and any necessary lab samples. Often a temperature is taken under the arm-pit as to alleviate the stress of traditional rectal temperatures, and containers for stool and urine samples can be sent home if your pet doesn’t need to aliviate themselves.

Then, one of our veterinarians will examine your pet in the exam room, ask you further questions, and then may recommend diagnostic tests if needed. Once the tests have been run, which can often be done in the practice, your doctor will discuss a possible diagnosis and treatment plan if warranted.

This is a great time to ask questions. Our veterinary team wants to make sure you’re completely comfortable with the information we’re providing.

Our veterinary technician will likely come back to wrap things up and will provide you with helpful pet care information and answer wellness and care questions for you. Our front desk staff will process your payment and schedule any needed follow up.

We are excited to meet you and your human and animal family members!
